         The song “This Love” by Maroon Five is a pop-rock hit. I watched many music videos during my research process in order to effectively plan out how our video would be. Artists Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Maroon Five, and Justin Timberlake inspired many factors of our music video and helped my group’s ideas come to life. After watching many videos, I noticed certain conventions in all of them. We made a point to utilize the same conventions in our video. These included pan, medium shots, long shots, over-the-shoulder shots, action cuts, fade-ins, fade-outs, the use of dialogue, tracking, and more. Overall, our video is fairly aligned with the pop-rock genre. Our music video leaves the audience with a lesson and relays a message that is extremely important. An issue in society, especially nowadays is unloyalty in romantic relationships or the act of cheating.       Hey y'all!  Let's finalize this music video.       My group and I first looked through all of the scenes we shot. And boy, were there a lot. We needed to figure out which retake of what scenes to use. Some of the scenes I wanted to use my members said didn't exactly fit right into the video or the storyline. A suggestion I made about split screens couldn't be done as well. But we adjusted.      Valentina and Charlize both had their editing job...      But what exactly was my job? For the editing portion, my job was to overview the editing that Charlize and Valentina did. As they made changes to our video, I was sent over clips to see if there was any feedback I could give to improve things. Sometimes the audio was off. Or the timing of our movement in relation to the words sung. At times clips were ordered in a way that I thought we could improve so I shared my thoughts about it.  Hey guyssss!    It's time to edit. Charlize and Valentina are far more experienced and better at editing than me. Because of this, we decided it would be better if they were in charge of editing. We were originally going to use CapCut as our editing platform... but I had something else in mind. I suggested that we use a more professional platform. A platform that allows the video to be edited on a computer. Valentina then suggested we use the Movavei editor, and we did.    Before editing, however, we all talked as a group about what we envisioned for our music video. How did we expect things to turn out? Personally, I envisioned that our dramatic story played out with clips of me then Charlize back and forth as well as a split screen showing two scenes at once. For example, the scene where Gavin is walking with each of us on one side of the screen. That way, the audience could really see how he was playing us at the same time.      Hi guys! On Saturday we finally filmed all of our clips, but not before making major changes in our plans. Firstly, Parker our original male actor was substituted for my friend Gavin. This had to be done because Parkers schedule was too busy, and he could only meet up with me Charlize and Valentina at times that we were unavailable. So, I called my friend Gavin and asked if he was available on Saturday at about 4 pm. Fortunately, he said yes and on Saturday we filmed our scenes!       We began filming at holiday park on the bleachers, the soccer/football field, the walkways, and sidewalks. Then, we walked over to a boba tea shop nearby the park and filmed a few more scenes. Valentina filmed Charlize and him during their scenes, she also filmed me and Gavin during our scenes. Sometimes, Valentina had to refilm her scenes, because I accidentally filmed vertically when I should have been filming horizontally. Our scenes consisted of walking and talking with Gavin.      Hey guys. It has been a hot minute since we've last spoken, but there's good reason for this, our setbacks.      Fortunately, we have finally began to move things along though. Me and Charlize and Valentina have been in contact in order to start our filming process. Yesterday, I met Valentina and Charlize at Charlize's house and we filmed a few of the starting scenes at her house. The scenes filmed were the two diary scenes of me and Charlize separately, and the starting scene of me and Charlize getting ready/applying makeup while talking about our love interest. Unfortunately, Valentina is not in our video, but she is helping with other parts of the music video making process like filming all of our scenes and helping us improve our acting.      In the guest room of Charlize's house, I laid on my stomach while smiling and writing in my "diary" about my crush.
